Making a .pst file smaller

Ok guys, i really need help on this one. I undeleted a .pst file. That .pst file is 1.90GB. I’m trying to import it back into outlook 2000 and ofcourse it says the file has reached it’s maximum size. See Article-305108 in the microsoft knowledge base so u have an idea of what i’m saying. Don’t worry, i’ve done everything in that article. This is driving me crazy. This file is very important, that’s why i need it so bad. Is there anything i can do to shrink that file so i could import it? No ideas are silly, i’ll welome any idea you have.
