Malicious IE activitiy?

My installation of IE 6.0.2900.2180 sp2 has begun showing other files I’ve opened in it’s History bar.

.txt, .zip files now show up in the History bar.

Even if they were opened and closed before IE is deployed, they show up in the History bar.

Do not recall this ever happening before today.

Has IE been altered by malicious code?
