Mass HTML email

We use Microsoft Outlook and Office products. I have an email list of over 6,000 customers and would like to send them emails including hyperlinks, pictures and such. The mailmerge to email feature in the latest version of Microsoft Word has html functionality but it is not working. Microsoft has not said when it will be fixed.

I am interested in learning of other ways to generate such personalized html emails including whether there are inexpensive software packages. Some of the software packages I have seen add footers or worse in the email…obviously not appropriate for business application.
