Had left my computer with the computer engineer to get it fixed. I’m using Windows XP and when the computer came back, everything seemed fine except that the Most Recently Used Applications list was empty. Also, there were many shortcuts to My Computer and My Documents lying around on the Desktop which had been created by that dude.
Now the problem is this –
I can’t seem to run some exe files. My Winamp and Windows Media Player run properly but my Banshee Alarm and DivX Player don’t run. I double-click the exe but it just doesn’t run. The Alarm.exe file gets stuck and starts eating up Processor usage whereas my DivX Player got corrupted. Tried installing a DVD ROM software but it said didn’t have permission to create temp folder in C:\Docume~1\username\….\temp
Am trying to figure out WHAT that guy must’ve done.
Pls help!
