Most frequently run programs log:Where?

After 20 mins of trying to find it, maybe someone could save me the additional time. I remember in Win95/98 there was a way of finding out which were the most frequently run programs on a particular system, but it was a long time ago since I last used it. Some kind of exe or log file I believe. Could someone help please?
