Multiple SCSI Host Adapters

I have a Dell PowerEdge 1300 server with an Ultra2 SCSI host adapter (Adaptec AHA-2940 U2) attached directly onto the motherboard. I would like to install an HP SureStore T20i tape backup drive in this system but it only comes in the SCSI-2 format. I don’t want to spend much money on this solution and thought that obtaining and installing a PCI SCSI-2 host adapter would solve this problem but I am a bit concerned about possible conflicts between the two adapters although they would both be Adaptec adapters and logically should be able to use the same BIOS configuration utility?!? So overall, my question is, could these two adapters coexist in the same system?
