One day I did 2 things – downloaded the newest automatic update from microsoft and went to a website that had a pop up that froze my computer – once the computer froze I restarted it and ie would run for a minute then shut down on its own. So i downloaded the newest ie7, which I think i already had, and since then my internet connection doesnt work…here are some points:
– outlook and instant messenger programs work fine, until you open ie and then everything on the computer stops responding and you have to restart
– tried doing a system restore, but there where no points previous to the date the problem started happening
– tried removing the automatic update that causes issues with zonealarm, didnt work
– tried shutting off the firewall…didnt work
– the internet connection once in a great while, after 20 startups works again for a minute, then stops
– in outlook, HTML emails freeze the computer too, so it seems like anything on the web is doing it, but not IM or email
I am at wits end…please please please if someone can help me it would be huge…this is my biz computer and biz isnt so good right now 🙂
