I have a small home network consisting of a D-Link wireless router. It has an HP Deskjet 6127 printer attached via twisted pair. The desktop (MS XP) is also connected via twisted pair. All other systems (notebooks running XP or Vista) are wireless.
The desktop never has a problem printing to the Deskjet. As for the notebooks, they will print immediately after the printer is power-cycled. However, if the printer has been on for some time, a print job will hang in the Windows print spooler, sometimes for hours, before spontaneously starting to print. Or I get annoyed and power-cycle the printer.
All Windows hosts are patched up to date according to Windows Update. And checking the D-Link website, I have the latest firmware loaded on that.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing the print jobs to hang like that?
