never to have existed

About 1985 someone gave my son a science-fiction comic book. The stories were versions of real science-fiction stories, including Isaac Asimov: Does a Bee Care? and Poul Anderson: Call Me Joe. Another story had a group of sophonts of various species discussing their species ultimate motivation. One came up with the thesis that people of his species most desired never to have existed. The comic book has gone lost. Can anyone give me a reference to either the comic book or the real story of the group of sophonts having the discussion?
