I am the owner of some pretty old computer equipment that I have kept because…well, just because. But we are moving and my husband has given me until the end of Memorial Day weekend to find someone interested in the stuff or he is going to toss it all in the trash. I have been told my stuff is even too old for donations, but I really hate to see it all thrown away.
To start with, I have an IBM Displaywriter System. Okay, I know you’re laughing. But I have all the parts: monitor, CPU, cables, 8″ floppy drive, and printer, printer ribbons and somewhere, although I have not found them yet, I even have 8″ floppies! I called IBM but they were not particularly helpful. And, well, I guess I must be REALLY old because the kid I was talking to didn’t have a clue what a Displaywriter was.
Some of the other items I have: IBM ThinkPad 340 with a whopping 50Mhz and Windows 3.1, HP ScanJet Plus, Compaq DeskPro 286, HP LaserJet Series II, TurboView 1280 2-Page Outline Font Monitor
I also have old software: WP5.0, Win95, MD-DOS Basic Version 3, Picture Publisher PC version 2.0, Corel Draw!, and Aldus PageMaker.
I am hopeful that somebody out there has some interest in some this stuff (status display perhaps?). If so, please contact me ASAP.
