Office enteprise 2007

Dear Sirs,
As an old fart, I have recently installed MS Office enterprise 2007
I would like to be informed what I have done wrong or why the new office does not ?integrate? properly or how I can ?fix? this
Every time I would like to use Office it has to ?configure? the program or my computer. Not that I am in a hurry but it is annoying
If a computer is so smart or fast why does it not recognise this after the first time it got used?
Could some one advise me on this?
Win XP SP2
