I am currently in the process of obtaining my Masters at RIT(Rochester Institute of Technology)[Golisano Bldg] -1st concentration in IT Website Design & Development -2nd concentration currently is Computer Science, but have yet decided what to replace this 2nd one with. In IT Program(RIT), the Database Concentration is mostly for people who would like to be DB Administrators; not for students to be in application(i.e., websites w/PHP, ecommerce development ) database development.
I am possibly looking into another technical college in doing online virtual labs(hands-on projects) courses to replace my 2nd concentration with more hands-on application development in website development, and with
with PHP, MySQL which is of course Open Source Software. I read where Open Source Software reduces the TCO for many companies. However, I read where some companies are going the 2005 SQL Server route because it is also in demand database server software. If anybody has any really good suggestions for a 2nd concentration where I can do hands-on courses; with the courses and assignments being online having virtual labs, and also in that the courses must be accredited and accepted by New York State. Look in the Master of Science in Professional Studies section via this weblink:

I cannot take more than 16 credits of courses in IT Department[Golisano Bldg] of which I have already in my 1st IT concentration. Which means, I can take 16 or more credits of courses elsewhere(another college) and bring these technical hands-on courses into the Master Degree I am currently taking.
Another place I looked into was ABAP Software Programming which is a part of SAP/R3 Package.
However, I hear in order to obtain employment must have many years of experience..( Oh my! )
RIT does not offer any hands-on courses in ABAP Software Programming at all. Most of the courses in RIT College of Business Masters Program are for managers, rather than for technical business application development professionals in the development of software applications and including businesses websites.
Please let me and thank you!
