I have a user that has Office 2003 installed on her machine. She is currently using the Oracle Connector for Outlook so that she can pull her Oracle Calendar information to her Outlook Calendar. Her machine is set up so that Oracle (Connector) is NOT handling her email. The user has a POP account set up in Outlook.
The problem is with the user’s Outlook tasks. If the Oracle Connector for Outlook is not installed, the user can assign a new task or set it to recur. The “Recurrence” and “Assign Tasks” buttons are able to be clicked on. However, if the Oracle Connector for Outlook is installed, the user clicks to add a new task, and the “Recurrence” and “Assign Tasks” buttons are greyed out and not available. This happens when looking at “Tasks” in “Personal Folders” or “Tasks” that may be assigned through Oracle.
I know that the Oracle Connector for Outlook is a bad thing to use to handle email, hence the user having a POP account. She ONLY uses the connector for her Oracle Calendar info as I stated earlier. I’d like to know if there is a way to have the Oracle Connector for Outlook installed without it making unavailable the “Recurrence” and “Assign Tasks” buttons when adding a new task. I’d greatly appreciate any help a person could give.
