OS/2 lost

Hi,
I had win2k and windows xp installed on C: and d: drive resp. What happened I got one message like ” your file winnt\system\config is corrupt or missing when I booted the computer to win 2k.
This happened bcause of sudden power off. Since I did not have repair disk, I installed win 2k on c: again and copied previous boot.ini on c:\ so that i could boot to win xp as before. but now win 2k works but i get same kind of message when i go for booting to win xp. actually when i select the boot menu and select win xp, i can see the win 2k dashed white bar that means it goes for win 2k not for win xp and i get the message. i checked boot.ini it has both os and partitions.
how to resolve this.
