I have a client whose PST file has become corrupted. We suspect it was due to its folder being added to a security program which hides and encrypts folders. The error states Inbox Repair Tool needs to be used. We removed all folders from the security program, then followed Microsoft’s instructions for using Inbox Repair Tool, but only one message from the Inbox was recovered, no other custom folders he’d created, and no contacts.
Win98SE, Office 2000 Professional, and it worked just fine before this happened.
I have copies of the PST file both before and after the attempted repair and I’m wondering if anyone can suggest a different solution. I have repaired the Office installation using the CD and made sure the system is in good working order – defragged etc. Am I overlooking something? Many thanks!
