We have a Sharepoint Enterprise 2007 site at work. We are all using Office 2003, including Outlook 2003. We have had no problem uploading/downloading documents from Office 03 to Sharepoint 07 site. But with uploading/downloading contacts with Outlook 03, we have problems.
There is a Contacts site under the Document Center from the home page. The site URL is http://test/Docs/Lists/Contacts/AllItems.aspx. When I go into Outlook 03 and create a new contact, I go to File, Save As. In File Name, I enter the URL http://test/docs/lists/contacts, click Save, and then am prompted to save with a file name. A window pops up for a couple seconds that shows a progress bar for the contact loading to the site, but when I check the site – no contact!!
I’ve noticed that the Settings of the Contacts site shows a required field for Last Name. We haven’t been able to find a way to un-require this. We have also tried saving with each different Save as type file type.
Any suggestions?
