Outlook PST file

by supportoranges . Updated 21 years, 10 months ago

Customer wants to move over mail and address book from a W98 Outlook 2000 installation to WinXP Home Outlook 2003.
W98 Outlook 2000 can’t export due to missing import/export engine messages (and of course cust does not have Outlook software or any other software on CD).
I tried moving the .PST file to replace the .PST file in the target. Worked for e-mail, but now cust gets some error when trying to enter contacts. If I migrate the .PST file to a non-default directory, I can issue ‘open file’ via menu, but then I see two inboxes in Outlook and the customer is then confused about which inbox the mail will go to.
Any info re migrating mail and contacts from Win98 Outlook 2K to WinXP Outlook 2003 when import/engine is broken restricting normal export method would be appreciated.
