Outlook sending 2 mail messages with each out going mail sent

Hello I am not sure if outlook is creating this problem but I have a system that is running outlook 2000 connecting to Verizon Pop3 mail but every time I send mail the person I am sending the mail to recieves two copies of the one message I sent any clue or idea what’s going on?
