Outlook.pst Disaster – Help!

I wanted to transfer my old email from my old PC to its new replacement, a new laptop. So I copied the old Outlook.pst file to a disc, foolishly thinking I could copy it over the laptop’s Outlook.pst file.

Now when I try to open Outlook on the laptop I get this funky error message:

“Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file C:yadayada is not a personal folders file.”

So, am I screwed? If so, how screwed am I? Do I have to do a re-install to get back to something I can use. I’ve been customizing this machine for a few days now, and I’d really hate to be back at square one. What’s the best way to get access to my Outlook again?

Also, once I get Outlook back, how can I really transfer my entire Outlook profile to my new laptop?
