I have a similar situation to the situation posted on Jan 18th of 2002. I have a 2 year old computer that passes post and will not boot. It just stops at a blinking cursor. The floppy light stays lit. I cleared nvram, reset system defaults. Nogo. I disconnected everything from the motherboard with the exception of the power supply and processor, expecting to bet beep codes for the memory and video. All I get is a series of steady beeps with no variation. I reinstalled the memory and video, I tried to get the PC to boot from a peripheral (floppy, cdrom). Nogo. I looked at the bios and it recognizes the hard. I tried a known good hard drive with an OS on it. Nogo. Still won’t boot. I reseated the CMOS battery. Nogo. I tried swapping data cables. Nogo. I reseated the processor. Nogo. I can’t get the PC to boot from any peripherals. I suspect the motherboard. Any Ideas?
