Pictures Lost, any recovery links?

I have accidentally deleted pictures from my camera’s “flash memory” card. My brother-in-law and I have looked for free software on the internet to recover them, but the only things that come up are trial versions that only show if the card has data TO recover. Does anybody know of reliable links to a program I can reclaim my photos with? I don’t work with digital pictures often enough to warrant buying $50.00 merchandise, but would be willing to pay up to $10.00 for decent software. (Free is still preferred 😉
