Am I the only one upset that the Microsoft software nazis have created, in Powerpoint 2002, a version with no viewer to publish presentations to other computers. Apparently, Microsoft expects presenters to buy a full version of the software to install on every computer the presentation is to be viewed on. Their “workaround” is to be either disable 2002 features by saving your presentation as an older version, or publish your presentation as html, which then plays in a small window within internet explorer (and they charged me $35 to share that tidbit). After spending $500 to upgrade, I’m a little upset about this development, which in my mind is tantamount to charging users for a full version of Word every time they want to print a document.
If ANYONE has developed a better workaround to this issue, please let me know.
