Printer lost communication with LPT1

I’m using HP OfficeJet 4 in 1 printer and HP Pavilion 8643 with Windows 98. Intermittent problem occurred during printing. Error messages “lost communication with LPT 1 port” and “initiation failed” were displayed when the printer was trying to initiate, this may also happen in the middle of a print job(few lines to 1 page).

I’ve tried to uninstall the printer software and reinstall again, but still failed. A new printer cable was replaced with the same result. I’ve done another test to connect the printer to another PC, this time, no error occurred and the print job was completed smoothly.
