Problem: Can’t print webpages

by sgray . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Here’s the problem: My mom installed Office XP Pro a few weeks ago, and now she can’t print webpages. Whenever she tries to print any webpage, it seems to create a blank temp file called triCOKOCL.htm or some other variation of that name. Other thana page number, the date, and the filename, the page is blank. When I first looked at the temp file, it’s default opening program was ‘XP component’ which opened the file in Notepad. I changed it to open in IE, and the file popped up, but it still couldn’t be printed. Also, we couldn’t save webpages. When we tried, it said “Webpage cannot be saved.” I clicked View Source and saved it that way, and that seemed to work, but we still couldn’t print it.

She has Win2K, and she’s on AOL. I thoughtthe problem might be with AOL, but I couldn’t find a setting that might be causing the problem. I think the problem might be a bug in Office XP Pro. Can anyone help me with this? I’m stumped.
