Problems after uninstalling Flyakite!

I had installed flyakite in 2006 and disabled it earlier this year. This last weekend I decided to uninstall it completely and now when i double click icons it does not launch apps, furthermore IE7 no longer works. It launches but it does not show contents of any site.

I can still launch apps for the start->run menu. And they work just fine, except IE7.

I have tried re-installing SP2, but it fails. I also have reinstalled IE7 but it still does not work.

Besides the option of reinstalling windows, is there a way I can fix this?
