pst file damage want to recover

hi to all,
my pst file is corrupted. i try scanpst.exe to repair but after scaning the file, it ask for backup & repair when i click on repair, the “INBOX TOOL NOT RESPONDING” its hanging
the pst size is 1.38 GB. my OS is win2000 & offfice 2000 i also try 2GB tool for pst but it is only work with 2GB & above.
i want solution for this problem.
