pst files

I am trying to reduce space on the exchange 5.5 server. I would like to move 1 user who has 1.5 gigs on his mailbox. I have tried to move (export then import)my personal folder class to another server that has a burner on it. I tried to burn the cd then deleted mt class files, not the folder. I tried to reload the pst files bac into the personal folder on my outlook, it will not work. What am I doing wrong?
