PST from Outlook 2000 into Outlook XP (2002)

by techserf . Updated 20 years, 12 months ago

I backed up this client’s PST file which he had used with Outlook 2000. We formatted, then installed Office XP, and imported the PST file into outlook XP (2002). Everything worked but there’s one minor thing: when he clicks ‘Address Book’ in OLXP, it brings up a different address book than he’s used to. It shows name, mail type SMTP, but no contact phone numbers. We’ve searched online on how to change this, but no luck. It looks like the WAB was what he was seeing in Outlook 2000, because it does show these fields. Anybody have any suggestions? If Microsoft recommends ditching the Address Book in favour of Contacts, why do they place this feature in the program?
Thanks
