We’re in the process of evaluating different vendors products and have narrowed down to Riverbed and Cisco. There’s alot of FUD out there and I’m looking at trying to muddle my way through all of it.
We are a very heavy VoIP shop, with Cisco Call Manager being the product of choice. We have QoS all over our network to ensure the best quality of RTP including voice and video.
Our network infrastructure is all Cisco. 65xx/3750 switches, 2851/3745/3845/720x routers.
Our concerns are where QoS fits into these two finalists. We’re hearing/reading/seeing that there are issues where QoS basically gets dropped or ignored in the environment of a WAN optimizer and I would like to hear from anyone who’s running in a similar environment. I’ve got to believe that we’re not the first to go through a deployment of these types of devices with voice running over the network.
