Question on an Excel file

I have an Excel file from others. When trying to open it in Excel 2003, it prompts that “This workbook contains links to other data sources. If you update the links, Excel attempts to retrieve the latest data; if you don?t update, Excel uses the previous information”. But no matter you update or not, many cells appear as “#NAME?”. While when I open it in Excel XP, those cells will have numbers inside. Actually in those cells, they are some formulas. Is it a problem of Excel 2003?
