scripting ssh sessions through java

Can anybody help me out …
I have an x application which can interface with a terminal by doing an ssh. I have another application which runs on java but i cannot interface it to the x application, so can i write a program in java so that it can talk to the terminal so tht it looks like the terminal interfacing with the x application?
