SCSI access through IDE

Hi,
I have a SCSI disk that I am trying to access through my WIND XP, which is in an IDE disk.

I am using Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller, and windows sees it and installs the drivers just fine.
When I connect the SCSI disk to the controller and try to boot from my IDE disk (XP), XP never starts. It just keeps rebooting.

Anybody has any idea what else I need to do?
