Search Outlook “Activites” from Contact

In older versions of Outlook (I’m using 2003)searching for all activities related to a particular Contact – using the Activities tab for a Contact – got very slow as the amount of mails etc that were being searched increased. Does the indexing introduced in the latest version of Outlook increase the efficiency of that particular search?

Thanks
