Continuing from the above problem.
Local User is named User1
Network user is named User1Z
In the midst of trying to fix this, I have discovered the following:
– changing the Local User from User1 to User1Z was NOT what fixed the admin rights…it was when I deleted the path from the “Home Path” on the network profile.
– admin rights are still working even now that the Local user is renamed back to User1
– There are 2 folders in Documents and Settings 1 named User1 and 1 named User1Z They are intimately connected in that User1Z contains the actual “My Documents” folder and User1 contains a folder called “User1Zs documents” instead of the “My Documents” folder. It’s contents are an exact mirror of the My Doc folder in User1Z
– the logon still hangs for 2 minutes
I’m just wondering if it would just be easier to copy the contents of the My Docs folder, and the Outlook profile and redo the whole computer and network setup from scratch.
Ideas?
