spoolsv.exe taking most of the CPU time

On my Win2k Pro i have configured 2 network printers (HP Laserjet 6L) when i was installing these printers my systems was going very slow. In task list i found a process SPOOLSV.EXE was taking 71% of CPU time.

My system is still running slow & spoolsv.exe is taking all the CPU time.

What is causing thsi & how do i resolve this ?
