SQL Plus Drivers

I am trying to mugrate data from INFOPLUS into SQL PLUS. And for this I am using ASPNtech driver. I dont know much about that. So please can you tell me what is it all about and also if I use a higher version of the driver instead of the current version being used in the code, will it affect the code??
