Stop ntoskrnl post new NIC install

After installing a new NIC in an nt4.9 sp5 workstation, upon the reboot, a blue screen dump occurs refering to cpuid irq1. Not having dealt with NT4 in almost 3 years, I think I remember this happening if I select the wrong network driver to install?
RESOLUTION: ? I have to track down an NT4 CD and maybe boot disk and start in recovery mode? I cant find a knowledge base on this, if you could verify this error to the new NIC and provide me with a MS page at least to fix this, it would be great. Tonight
