Stripping formatting from text

I am entering data (cutting and pasting text)from Excel into a very clunky text editor (the interface for a database).

The text from Excel comes with a load of formatting (not just word wrapping but a whole lot of formatting from the tables that it was in before it was transferred to excell).

Is there a way to “bulk-remove” formatting from text in Excel worksheets (there are 770 cells that must be cut and pasted individually)

I know that pasting into notepad and the copying will remove formating but this adds too many steps in an already labour intensive process.
