Ok, I am having problems with a computer build I am trying to do.
I got all of the parts, put them all together and there was a problem with the video card. The VGA port worked, but dimly, then it started flickering red, then it went blank. I then plugged the VGA cable into the DVI adapter on the DVI port and it worked fine. I started installing XP, and the CD I had didn’t match the type of CD-Key, so the install was only partial. I then talked to the customer and she wanted both ports working, I don’t blame her, so I RMA’d it.
I just got the new video card, I put it in, started the comp, and nothing is displayed. No beep codes or anything. I removed the RAM hoping for a few beeps, and nothing. The fans start up, LEDs come on, but no beeps and no video. I removed the video card, all disk drive cables and everything, still no beep codes. Maybe the built-in speaker is dead, I don’t remember if it beeped or not when I had the video working.
I have also tried taking out the CMOS battery and booting up, it does the same thing, the fans start, but no beeps and no video.
