Ok, here is a difficult question, or it is in my mind at least. I have 5 SVCHOST.EXE processes currently running on my laptop and from what I am able to determine, I’m not supposed to have that many. The following information is what I have gathered from the Windows Task Manager.

User Name = Network Service

Threads = 4
SVCHOST.EXE 3
PID = 940
User Name = System
Mem Usage = 43884K
Peak Mem Usage = 84700K
Handles = 1181
Threads = 42
SVCHOST.EXE 4
PID = 852
User Name = Network Service
Mem Usage = 3892K
Peak Mem Usage = 3892K
Handles = 284
Threads = 10
SVCHOST.EXE 5
PID = 764
User Name = System
Mem Usage = 4708K
Peak Mem Usage = 4728K

There is the information, please keep in mind that I have not idea what Handles, PID’s or Threads are. The Antivirus programs I have used are Norton 2003, McAfee Trial, and AVG Free. I have also used McAfee’s Stinger Standalone Antivirus. Please go to http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ to see a list of the viruses it detects and removes. Thanks for any assistance
