svchost.exe error

I am getting svchost.exe error after starting windows 2000 professional machine. After getting this error, i am not even able to see the detail in event viewer. I double click at the error in system log, it doesn’t open the error detail. Because of this error i can not open the programe file folder. Appreciate any clue to fix this error. Thanks
