Windows XP Media Edition SP3 (Brand new installation) on a very nice HP dual-processor desktop in a Windows Domain environment.
After updating with SP3, I received an SVCHOST.EXE error window. 0x00db5759 memory could not be written.
Google doesn’t bring up anything with that particular code.
Automatic updates have been turned off, as I am aware that this has caused issues on XP Media machines that have been joined to a domain. Don’t know why, but it just is.
By the way, this error message appears right before the login screen. Once I have logged in and get the desktop, I get another error message in its own window: Data Execution Prevention – Microsoft Windows. To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program. Name:Generic Host Process for Win32 Services. Publisher: Microsoft Corporation. (The only button choice is to CLOSE the window.)
After closing the window, I get your typical Windows Error Reporting window. Sending the report returns no results.
Any ideas?
