SVCHOST.exe Program Error

I have a Toshiba Tecra S1 running Windows 2000.

I am getting a SVCHOST.EXE Program Error when I try to access a network resource (ie internet or network share). Iam running mcafee virus scan and have downloaded the latest virus patterns and ran a complete scan (all files). It detected no viruses. I also verfied that I have all of the current microsoft patches installed. I also ran Mcafee’s stinger.

Does anyone have any other ideas?
