Symantec Ghost Failed/Client Timed out 11.5.1

by mihouser . Updated 16 years, 3 months ago

Not having used any imaging tools before I thought I would give Symantec ghost a try. When I first tried to create a image it took aboyt 30min and said failed “unable to create virtual partition”. Now I am tying again. I have everything set up correctly via the manual and I have not turned off the windows firewall. Now I get Failed Initialization. Also in the log I get Failed to install:
\\HP64812431398
(10): Connection: Error connecting to client. Some possible causes are:
1. Network connection is disabled/down on this machine and/or the client machine.
2. Client’s windows firewall may be blocking file and printer sharing.
3. The computer name entered is misspelled or invalid.

The client installs over to the machine. I have had the machine both on the windows welcome screen and started up to the desktop. Nothing seems to work. I have also set to broadcast multi and direct.

The machine is running XP Pro with 1 HD
