symantec vpn 9 client cannot RDP

A remote user can connect to the corporate network with symantec vpn 9 client connecting to sym gateay security 5420. He then tries to RDP to his office pc and gets theusual generic error msg ( network connectivity problem can’t remember the exact msg) He can ping his office pc . I took my laptop to his house and vpned to the corporate network and I can RDP to his office pc. The strange thing is he had this thing working but now suddenly it does not work. So I don’t know if it is a vpn or RDP problem
