Task Bar and Notification Area Problems

My notification area on the task bar is on 2 lines. The date also shows with Clock and the day of the week written out. I’ve tried resetting all the task bar properties as well as resizing the task bar with the double arrow. The resizing either gets rid of the task bar completely or it returns to as it is.
