Text linking problems

I’m having a problem with linked text boxes. Several of the words on the bottom of one page repeat on the top of the next text box. When I delete some of the words from the bottom, I have a double cursor on the top of the following box that is also deleting those words. I haven’t seen this problem in any help screens.
