There are a number of us who live in and around the Twin Cities. Anyone who has ever driven here has probably crossed the 35W bridge at one point or another.
I guess it should have occurred to me to post something before now. Last night saw us fielding calls from family and friends. I had gone home early so was home when the bridge collapsed. Otherwise I would have been on or near it.
Traffic here is quite the nightmare with alternate routes clogged, tempers flaring, and people driving more aggressively than normal. This is not good as we don’t have a bunch of alternatives for getting across the river and one major highway is out of the question.
Please keep the victims, their families, and our rescue workers in your prayers. This is a big mess and it will take some time to clean up. And thank you to all who emailed me today. I’m okay. Now if I can just keep from getting run off the road…
