The power cord connection heats up in my presario v2000

I have PRESARIO V2000, few days back when I connected the power cord the jack became very hot within no time. i thought that the Jack is short circuited hence I purchased a new charging cord.

The problem still persist and now the cord is melting even when I am trying to connect it only for some testing purpose.
