OK here’s my beef. I work with several differnet routers, such as Cisco, Riverstone (Cabletron) and Nortel to name the major ones. We have problems every now and then that are deeply technical, such as DWDM interconnectivity, or ATM-to-Frame-relay switching.
I recently had a problem with Cisco and Lucent connectivity which required Cisco to create new IOS code. This fixed the problem, even though it was really a Lucent problem, but that’s a long story.
The point is that when I had Ciscosupport, 3 out of 4 had a strong “India” accent of which I had a very difficult time understanding. Riverstone TAC has India answering the phone right off the bat, and the accent is even worse. What has happened to our American workforce? How can wejust sit by whlie large corporations go for the cheap labor, costing us jobs. Lay off the Americans so they can hire cheap India.
I’ve seen SEVERAL companies do this. GE is another, with several different divisions moving entire divisions to India, such as credit departments, engineering departments, support departments…..All MOVING to India. These people do not pay our taxes! What are your opinions on this new craze?? And what to do about it? Or is the problem too politically incorrect, or racially insensitive! Hogwash is what I say. It’s time we get back to being TOUGH!
